The iSpring WCB32 3-Stage 20-Inch Whole House Water Filter with 1-Inch NPT Carbon is a whole house water filter system. Three stage filtering removes most common problems like rust, sediment and chlorine from the water. Additionally the second and third stage carbon filters clean the water from most other organic contaminants, odors, and other impurities responsible for bad tasting water.
The Filters
1st Stage: 5 micron high-capacity polypropylene sediment filter, for removal of sand, silt, dirt and rust particles to be replaced every 6 months or 100,000 gallons of water.
2nd Stage: GAC Carbon Filter removes chlorine, halide, organic contaminants, odors, and other impurities that contribute to bad taste and odor. Depending on supplied water quality, it is expected to be replaced every 3 to 6 months.
3rd Stage: 5 micron Carbon Block Filter eliminates any remaining chlorine in the water to be replaced every 6 months or 100,000 gallons of water.
This system includes a 3-Stage 20" Water Filter System with mounting bracket, one set of 3 filters (1 Sediment + 1 GAC Carbon + 1 CTO Carbon), a filter wrench and 2 extra metal fittings. The company gives a 1-year limited warranty.
This filter system does it's job once installed properly. But this seems to be an issue as I found some people complaining about exactly this model and the difficult installation. Although this filter systems comes at a relatively low price, if you need a plumber to install it, it's no longer that cheap.
Pro's
- Fair price
- Removes sediment, rust, organic contaminants as well as chlorine, halide etc. responsible for most bad taste issues in drinking water.
Con's
- Poorly manufactured fittings
- Sediment filter 5 micron only
- Customers complained about unclear installation instructions.
Exchange filter cost (at the time of writing)

The manufacturer iSpring Water Systems seems to do better with under the counter or counter top systems.
If you can invest a little bit more for your filter system, I would look at the iSpring 3-Stage 20" Big Blue Whole House Water Filter Sediment Carbon which comes with metal fitting and a solid rack for the filters or the Home Master HMF3SdgFeC.
